If there was any time to make those intentions from what we want to manifest deep within our heart, it’s at this new moon in Scorpio on November 1st, 2024, right after Halloween and at the beginning of Día de los Muertos. So it was more that the normal Halloween tarot spread for me as I also dove deep into what I want my day to day life to feel like with the Queen of Cups as my guide.
There’s nothing superficial about this new moon. It’s about going deep to what we truly desire and the why we want to manifest in our lives. And then take action, take the steps, do the work, towards making that desire a reality in the area of the chart being highlighted.
I’m intentionally choosing the Queen of Cups, to reflect on and use her energy to help set my intentions. The Queen of Cups looks deep within her heart instead of swimming in superficial waters, not just at what she wants, but the why she wants it. She explores how she will feel once she attains her desire. I usually do not use the classical significator, but I felt this was one of the those times it was needed for myself. I have a much easier time figure out what others wants and desires are and much harder figuring out what mine are.
As a Gemini Ascendant, the moon will hit my 6th house of work and health, my day to day, so I kept that in mind when working out this spread. If you know your time and place of birth, you can find what your ascendant is by getting your full natal chart on AstroSeek.
I also found a great Halloween spread from the Daily Tarot Girl that she posted in 2021. It helped me get deep down to my heart’s desire, which I incorporated for this reading.
New Moon in Scorpio intention and Halloween reading
Since it was Halloween, I treated myself to a new deck I’ve been wanting to get for a while. The deck is the Everyday Witch by Deborah Blake. Absolutely love the colors and the feel of the deck. I did this reading for myself in two parts: the first one reflecting on the Queen of Cups
Part One: Deep diving with the Queen of Cups
Significator: Take out the Queen of Cups from the deck. Take at least 20 minutes to go within your heart, look deep into your emotions, and be the Queen of Cups. Essentially, step into the card, become her. Feel the area in your life that is calling for change. What do you want to manifest for yourself and why? Will it bring you peace, freedom, a sense of well- being? Go beyond the superficial needs. I took my time with this first part by spending a few minutes with the card and then taking a walk in nature to reflect and feel out what I had discovered.
Part Two:
The first three cards look at what needs to be revived, what scares you that is holding you back and what needs to be left behind.
Card 1 – The Seance: What needs to be revived?
Card 2 – . What scares you?
Card 3 – Buried. What needs to be buried in the the past.
The second set of three looks at what needs to be done and guidance towards manifesting your intention.
Card 4: Cast a Spell: What needs to be done in order to manifest your intention? What steps do you need to take on a physical and mental level?
Card 5: Bewitched: What is your magic, your superpower?
Card 6: Secret Message: Who or what will help you take the steps you need? What secret ally or tip do you need to stay on track to do something everyday towards your intention.
